‘Stars of Something New’ are a dynamic & energetic Youth Theatre for youngsters aged between 6-18yrs old, serving our home County of Essex. ‘Stars of Something New’ is not a Performing Arts school – what we are is far more diverse – our children have an option to either learn the skills of the Performing Arts or can take the backstage road and become a member of our Stage Crew! All of our youngsters have the opportunity to take part in our own huge production shows and dazzling events!
We have been running as a company since January 2009 and grow stronger every year. Each week (during term time) we hold classes in drama, dance & vocal – all of these workshops are taught by our fantastic team of Mentors, perfectly chosen for the discipline they excel in. We also have a specialist Mentor for our Stage Crew where they learn the ropes of stage management, lighting, sound and even pyrotechnic design! All of our Mentors are young - meaning that our students & mentors have fantastic relationships between them, making it a friendly and fun experience all the way through from when they start!
Do not expect a strict performing arts school type programme with exams and continuous assessments because that is not what we do or why we are here. Every child is equal and every child is given the same opportunities – through commitment, energy and effort we guarantee your child will have an amazing time with us!
We’ve recently joined the National Association for Youth Theatres (NAYT) and have also received in kind sponsorship from a local business ‘Rockit Pizza & Grill’.
